Family Event – Prairie Dog Central Train ride – Saturday, August 6

We have secured a group of seats for our 3rd Annual Prairie Dog Central Train ride themed Planes, Trains and Automobiles – August 6th 2016‘. Last summer, the families (41 people) that participated (see blog post) in the Prairie Dog Central ‘Family Event’ had a great time!  If you would like to join the group, please CONTACT US and ask for the HOLD number that the Prairie Dog Central ticketing department has issued for our group.  To use the HOLD number you will have to purchase your tickets from Prairie Dog Central ticketing over the phone (204) 832-5259, (NOT ONLINE).  Tickets are offered at a reduced rate if four or more are purchased together.  For more details visit

The train departs at 11:00am from Inkster Junction Station and then leisurely travels 45-60 minutes to Grosse Isle.  At Grosse Isle food including hot dogs, homemade deserts and ice cream can often be purchased during the stop that lasts approximately 90 minutes.  Kids can enjoy the free barrel train ride plus there are historic buildings that to tour during the stop.  The train then returns to the Inkster Junction Station with an estimated arrival time of 2:45pm.  For more information see the Frequently Asked Questions page.

On August 6th the oldest working Steam Locomotive in North America is scheduled to be in operation!

Please note:  All families are responsible for purchasing their own tickets directly from the Prairie Dog Central Railway.  The number of seats on hold for our group is LIMITED .
