Our Founding Fathers
Kevin Barske has been a full time at home dad since August 2010. He is dad to a 6 year old girl and to a 3 year old boy. He attended the National At-Home Dad convention held in Denver in 2013 and again in 2014. The first year Kevin attended the convention he was the only Canadian in attendance and was truly inspired by all the fathers he met, each one caring deeply for their children. He saw what a great support system a lot of these dads had built for themselves in their respective cities and wanted to do the same for the dads of Winnipeg.
Jason Driedger has been an at-home dad since 2010. While being the primary caregiver to two children, he has also actively maintained a small business. There are many challenges to raising young children. Networking and socializing with other like-minded parents who are dealing with (or have dealt with) similar challenges is extremely helpful. Finding other dads who are in a similar position to himself as the primary caregiver in the household is relatively rare. One of the goals of this group is to provide a connection to other dads who are out there but hard to find. In 2014, he attended the National At-Home Dad convention held in Denver and improved his parenting skills.
